What should be done after a material damage accident? (14.12.2023)

CAUTION! In the following cases, this report WILL NOT be filled.

If a motor vehicle is driven without a driver's license or a motor vehicle is driven with an insufficient driver's license,
If the driver is under age,
If the driver is suspected of alcohol or mental health,
If one or more of the vehicles involved in the accident belong to public institutions,
If damage occurs to goods belonging to public institutions,
If only the belongings of third parties are damaged in a traffic accident,
If one or more of the vehicles involved in the accident do not have traffic insurance, (The Yeşilkart-Green Card document issued for vehicles coming from abroad also replaces traffic insurance)
If the traffic accident resulted in death and/or injury.

In cases where you cannot fill in the Material Damage Traffic Accident Detection Report due to the above reasons, what you need to do is as follows:

You should call the traffic police, get an accident report and get an alcohol report without changing the location of the vehicle at the accident site.
If the scene of the accident is within the borders of the gendarmerie, you must inform the nearest gendarmerie station and make a statement and keep an eyewitness report.
If another vehicle is involved in the accident, you must obtain a photocopy of the traffic policy of that vehicle and a photocopy of the driver's license and license.
If the vehicle is not running and your insurance policy has an assistance service, you should call the assistance company for the tow truck.

Where possible, photographs should be taken from different angles before vehicles are removed from the accident site. A copy of the minutes, together with the photographs, should be sent to the insurance company that issued the traffic insurance policy of the other party or your own vehicle, or to the insurance company that issued your vehicle's motor insurance policy, if compensation is to be claimed from the motor insurance policy.

After the accident report, you should have the vehicle towed to a contracted or authorized service. In order to report the damage, you need to prepare the following documents.

policy photocopy,
Accident Report,
alcohol report,
Statement records, eyewitness record,
Photocopy of drivers license and registration,
Photos of the damage,
Official documents to be taken from the bank for pledged and mortgaged vehicles.
